Victory Energy Solutions to support
Connecticut FIRST® teams’ fundraising efforts

[New Britain, Conn., January 9, 2011]Connecticut FIRST®, a statewide organization that inspires young people to be science and technology leaders through mentor-based programs, has launched a fundraising partnership with New Britain-based Victory Energy Solutions, a full service energy management and home performance firm that offers energy savings programs to homeowners and businesses.

For every Home Energy Solutions Home Energy Service that is performed by Victory Energy Solutions on behalf of Connecticut FIRST® participants, Victory will donate $50 to the Connecticut FIRST® team designated by the homeowner.

The announcement was made during Connecticut FIRST®’s FIRST LEGO® League Food Factor Challenge State Championship held December 11 at Central Connecticut State University where 480 young people ages 9 – 14 on 48 teams competed on the robotics table and in science presentations, and at Connecticut FIRST®’s FIRST Robotics Challenge Kickoff January 7 at Farmington High School.

“Through this partnership, Victory Energy Solutions is providing a way for Connecticut FIRST®’s teams, their supporters and mentors to raise the funds that are so critical to how they learn, practice and compete in local, regional and national competitions,” said Connecticut Development Authority President Marie O’Brien, a member of Connecticut FIRST®’s advisory board. "Through the partnership between Connecticut FIRST® and Victory Energy Solutions, young people will have a significant role in helping Connecticut residents make their homes more energy efficient, save money on heating and electric bills, reduce our carbon footprint and educate our community about the importance of energy efficiencies. Additionally, the teams will be able to earn funds to support their learning activities, purchase of robots and parts, materials, food and travel to local, regional and national competitions.”
